I've been in the Christmasy mood since summer. The studio had been decorated like Santa's workshop. We had to go to this store in Michigan called Broners to really decorate it right to give it that mid-December feel. I mean come on it was stiffling back in LA and I was suppose to be singing about stocking hung high on a fire place then I walk outside and its like breaking into an immediate sweat haha. We had four tree's set up, I decorated them all by myself with different themes, we put that spray can snow on the windows between booths. Christmas lights, even gave each other presents while recording. I'm glad to say the final project has turned out amazing! My Only Wish is the X-Mas Single. It was the last song I recorded and was rushed to be put on the album. Working with The Dream was a lot of fun and I needed to break out of the shell that my management has had me in for the last few albums. Plus this is a good kick off to hopefully a long lasting relatonship with my new label.I was sure that this was it. That I didn't want to record again but when you have a very persistant person bugging you to get off ass and don't end on a cowardly note, well you do watcha gotta. haha
With the lauch of the new denim line and the success with that we've decided yet again to expand on things with the Jessica Simpson Collection. Its sort of underwraps but its really fun and exciting. Contrary to popular belife, I do run my company. We've got two show rooms, one in New York and in LA like a good florishing company would do to monopolize while they're on fire. Its honestly been non-stop since the beginning of the summer and its going to keep going. However, recenely I was able to take sometime off here and there. I've made a lot of new friends and rekindled some friendships that have dwindled down just because we're never in the same place. Now that the album is done, I will have a lot promotion to do. There is a Christmas special that was recorded a few weeks back. I got to sing with my sister again which I love to, Bronx and Dylan my sweethearts even show up for it too ;) I love my boys. BUT the big thing thats really going to knock me off kilter will be spending Thanksgiving in New York City. We just bought an apartment there a few months back so at least I'll be able to cook. Pretty sure my whole family is coming up. Its a pretty deal for me to do the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade. I'm so excited and I think I might have a few special guests, I hope. We'll see how that goes. I wish that my grandmother Joyce could have got to see it, she was the whole reason I did my first Christmas album and this one is deciated to the memory of her. She was an amazing and strong woman. If it wasn't for her I wouldn't be the person I am today.
As for everything else, I am not engaged. Eric is just a friend. I really need to get a new publicist.
